History
Pump Repair Service Company (PRSCO) is a family-owned business. It was founded by J. “Boots” Archer Jr. in May 1941 and has continued to provide professional, high quality service for over 80 years.
The Archer family began their career in the pump business in 1907, with Boots’ father,
David J. Archer, Sr. working as a salesman for a local San Francisco pump company, Simonds Machinery, where he remained his entire career. Following in his father’s footsteps, Boots’ pump career began in 1931, working for a Bay Area well drilling company. There he worked as a well driller, pump installer, and in shop and field repairs. In the late 30s, he proceeded to work for the same company as his dad, in the repair department of Simonds Machinery. Years later, Boots and a fellow co-worker decided to buy out the Simonds repair department. And, in 1941, Pump Repair Service Company in San Francisco was born. With his vast knowledge, years of experience, excellent work ethic and friendly personality, Boots began to develop a solid foundation of satisfied customers. Through Pump Repair’s professional service and word of mouth, the company continued to grow through the years. As the business increased, his wife, Helen joined the company to manage the office.
In 1955, Boots’ son, David J. Archer III began working at PRSCO. Over the years, Dave learned the business and in 1980, upon Boots’ retirement, took over ownership of Pump Repair Service Company. Dave continued to provide the same personal and exceptional service through the years. And, in keeping with family tradition, two of Dave’s sons, Wayne and Steve Archer started working at the company in 1977 and 1988, respectively. Furthermore, in 2012, Dave’s grandson, Justin Archer, began his pump career at PRSCO extending it to a 4 generation family business. The company remains family owned by David Archer III contributing 69 years, Wayne Archer with 47 years Steve Archer with 36 years, and Justin Archer with 12 years of experience and knowledge, all invested in Pump Repair Service Company’s many years of success.
In the past 83 years, the company has expanded and grown considerably, moved to a larger facility, and have experienced many changes to improve and expand its services. However, Pump Repair Service Company still maintains the same outstanding work ethic originally instilled by Boots. Over 80 years of experience and expertise, the focus on customer service satisfaction, and the pride in workmanship are still our practice today. Pump Repair Service Company remains dedicated to providing the same level of excellent service in repairing, sales and the installation of pumps as it did when established in 1941.
